A Research on Paintings-appreciation Art Therapy¡¯s Effect on Children¡¯s Self-concept and Emotional Intelligence

Abstract

|
The purpose of this study was to analyze effect of art therapy program by using notable paintings appreciation on young children¡®s self concept and emotional intelligence. Subjects were 5years old¡¯s 50 kindergarten children in gyeong sang nam do. The subjects were divided into 2 groups: 25 young children¡®s treatment groups and young children¡®s general groups. Art therapy program by using notable paintings appreciation took over a total of 12 sessions, with each session lasting 60 minutes, and the session taking place once a week 3months. The research tools used in this study included the questionnaire for assessment scale of young children¡®s self concept and emotional intelligence. Using SPSS statistics 21 for window, cronbach¡¯s ¥á, t verification, ANCOVA were used to analyze the data. Finding of the study are summarized as follows: First, art therapy program by using notable paintings appreciation had positive effects on young children¡®s self concept. Second, art therapy program by using notable paintings appreciation had positive effects on young children¡®s emotional intelligence.
